A few words about the artist of the picture above, to whom we are most grateful

Ruth Parkin has had a variety of jobs since leaving the sixth form:  she worked in a library, studied at night school to go to University to do Archaeology at Lancaster; travelled round the country digging and illustrating, specialising in prehistoric artifacts – especially flints. Ruth became a full member of the Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors and has had work published for various archaeological units and English Heritage. Now based in Devon and working in a school office, she likes to draw things when she can to keep her hand in, and when people ask her to! She is married to an archaeologist, with two children, one just off to Uni, and one about to go to 6th form.
